San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee congratulated the Golden State Warriors on the team’s season following the Warriors’ 126-121 Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Saturday evening.
The loss eliminated the Warriors from playoff contention.
“Tonight the San Francisco Bay Area is so proud of our home team heroes as the Warriors finished an amazing and exciting season,” Lee said in a statement late Saturday night.
“Because of the Golden State Warriors, we’ve enjoyed yet another exhilarating post-season after a record 51-win regular season and the team’s first back-to-back playoff appearances in 20 years,” he continued.
The Clippers will go on to face the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday evening in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
