A mechanical problem is causing Caltrain delays on the Peninsula this morning.
Southbound train No. 218 was terminated at the Hayward Park station in San Mateo because of the mechanical issue, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
The passengers on that train were transferred to another southbound train.
The breakdown has caused delays of up to 23 minutes in both directions, Dunn said.
