San Francisco International Airport is continuing to run free shuttles between Caltrain’s Millbrae station and the airport to accommodate passengers during the BART strike, a spokesman said today.
The shuttles depart from the Millbrae station about every 15 minutes during peak morning hours, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.
The airport is also providing shuttles to the South San Francisco ferry terminal at Oyster Point, though there appeared to be less demand for that route, Yakel said.
He said that on Monday, about 1,500 passengers used the free shuttles.
As of late this morning, Yakel said there were no plans to add more shuttles, as the current service appeared to be keeping up with demand.
He said the airport is prepared to continue shuttle service to and from Millbrae and the ferry terminal should the BART strike continue into the weekend.
“It really depends on how things transpire with the BART negotiations,” Yakel said.
