PG&E crews stopped a gas leak in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood this afternoon after it was ruptured by a construction crew digging in the area, according to the fire department.
A crew digging at a residence in the 3600 block of Taraval Street hit a half-inch line at 2:32 p.m., PG&E and fire officials said.
PG&E crews arrived to make repairs just before 3 p.m., fire officials said. PG&E spokesman Nick Smith said they stopped the gas leak by 3:07 p.m.
Smith said the construction crew did not call 811 to get gas lines marked before digging. He reminded anyone doing digging work to make sure they know the location of all gas lines.
