Police have released the names of two men arrested after a violent fight broke out Wednesday night in front of a corner store in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood.
Around 11:25 p.m. the suspects allegedly tried to enter the Kansas Food Market in the 2200 block of 23rd Street but were confronted outside by three other men before they could get in.
One suspect used a glass bottle to attack a 23-year-old man who had confronted the group, police said.
In the attack the victim’s ear was possibly severed and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
Another victim suffered cuts to his nose and face. He was treated at the scene, police said.
The two arrested were identified as Raed Nasser, 34, of San Francisco, and Hamzah al-Kordy, 24, of Elk Grove, police said.
Nasser was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated mayhem and al-Kordy was booked on suspicion of burglary, elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the sheriff’s office, Nasser is being held on no bail.
Another person involved in the fight was a 73-year-old man, who was detained at the scene, but later released.
