Four men, allegedly carrying guns, were arrested Sunday evening near San Francisco’s Hallidie Plaza, according to police.
The men, all San Francisco residents, were spotted around 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Market Street, according to police.
Police responded and saw the men with weapons and ordered the suspects to the ground.
The men ignored the officers, who had their weapons drawn, and the men fled in different directions around the Hallidie Plaza area near the Powell BART station, according to police.
Eventually all four suspects were taken into custody before anyone was hurt, police said.
Three of the men were arrested on suspicion of weapons violation and resisting arrest. Those three are Orlando Ware, 23; Paul Antoine, 28; and Marvin Session, 23.
The fourth suspect, Lendale Warren, 21, was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and on a forgery warrant.
All four were booked at San Francisco County Jail. Police allegedly recovered three guns from the group.
Ware was acquitted of murder in September 2009 after he was charged in the May 7, 2007 fatal shooting of 19-year-old Eric Campos in the 3600 block of San Bruno Avenue.
He was 16 at the time of the shooting that left Campos dead with a shot to the chest.
When he was 18, he was arrested for another incident in December 2009 for a shooting near Sunnydale Avenue and Hahn Street in Visitacion Valley that injured a police sergeant. Ware was released after the case was eventually dropped by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
