An argument between neighbors turned violent in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood on Saturday night, police said.
The incident was reported at about 8:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Sixth Street, which is between Folsom and Howard.
Police said a 53-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman began arguing outside of their building and then started hitting each other, police said.
The 53-year-old woman realized that during the scuffle, the younger woman had stabbed and slashed her with a knife, police said.
Others in the area broke up the fight, and responding officers arrested the suspect at the scene, according to police. Her name has not yet been released.
The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.
