Nearly 10,000 PG&E customers in the Bay Area are without power this morning because of wind-related outages, utility officials said.
As of 7 a.m., about 9,900 PG&E customers in the Bay Area are without power, including 6,400 in San Francisco.
Since the windstorm hit the region on Tuesday, around 187,500 customers have lost power at some point as downed trees and other debris have impacted utility infrastructure, PG&E officials said.
The most recent large outage started around 5:30 a.m. in San Francisco, where about 6,000 customers lost power in portions of Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill and Pier 39, according to PG&E.
About 1,500 PG&E employees have been dispatched around the utility’s system to handle the response to the storm.
