San Francisco residents who want to keep tabs on city transit can now get updates on everything from on-time performance for buses and trains to crime statistics online, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency officials said today.
New interactive online dashboards on the SFMTA website offer up-to-date Muni performance data in 13 areas, including on-time performance for buses and trains, collision and crime data and the agency’s carbon footprint.
“In an effort to improve what we do, the SFMTA has been regularly reporting these metrics to the public for many years,” SFMTA transportation director Ed Reiskin said in a statement.
“While those existing reports are informative, sharing these interactive reports will allow us to engage with the public in a more meaningful way, because the data is easier to find, easier to read and updated constantly,” Reiskin said.
The dashboards are grouped according to the agency’s four main goals, which include creating a safer transportation experience, making transit and other forms of travel other than private vehicles the preferred means of travel, improving the city’s environment and quality of life and creating a workplace with high levels of service.
