Among the 50 U.S. counties with the most employees, San Francisco and Travis County, Texas led them all in employment growth in 2014, U.S. Census Bureau officials announced Thursday.
San Francisco’s employment jumped 5.7 percent to 573,297 employees in 2014. That’s an increase of 30,931 workers, U.S. Census officials said.
The number of employees in the information sector in San Francisco leapt 13.6 percent to 56,684 workers and the construction sector grew 10.4 percent to 17,884 workers.
The two sectors led all other sectors in the county in employment growth, according to U.S. Census officials.
