The last day to request to vote by mail in next month’s primary election is Tuesday, according to San Francisco elections officials.
Those interested in voting by mail in the June 3 election instead of visiting a polling place need to request the special ballot by Tuesday by calling or visiting the Department of Elections.
Voters can also register online at www.sfelections.org/vbm.
The Elections Department can be reached at (415) 554-4375 or in San Francisco City Hall in Room 48.
For residents who have received voter information pamphlets in the mail there is an application on the back cover that can be mailed to the department before the deadline.
All completed vote-by-mail ballot requests must be received by the Department of Elections by 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Officials note that the requests have to be in the office by that time; postmarks will not count.
Monday is Memorial Day and there will be no mail service on that day.
