After a series of homicides in San Francisco earlier this month, the Archdiocese of San Francisco is holding five prayer services today to remember the victims.
The first service took place this morning for Coquiese Walker, 40, who was killed June 10 in a shooting in the 300 block of Turk Street, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Mission and 15th streets, where Dominic Anderson, 25, was shot multiple times on June 13.
About a half-hour later, a few blocks away in the 2900 block of 16th Street, a service was scheduled for Peter Myles, 57, who was stabbed to death there on June 16.
Prayers will be shared for another victim in a fatal incident around 12:30 p.m. Wilbert Williams, a homeless man, was allegedly struck and killed on June 15 by 27-year-old San Francisco resident Jaime Juarez.
Juarez was allegedly driving drunk when he struck Williams, who was sleeping near the Fifth Street off-ramp from westbound Interstate Highway 80.
Last week, Juarez pleaded not guilty to vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges. He remains in custody.
The day’s final prayer session will be held at 1 p.m. for Edric Carr, 24, of San Francisco, who was gunned down in the Potrero Hill housing projects near 25th and Connecticut streets a week ago on June 17.
All of the services are held where the victims were killed.
Police said this morning that there is no new information about suspects in the four unsolved murders.
