A man drove off with a woman and then punched her after she mistook him for a ride-booking service driver in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.
The 22-year-old woman had just left a nightclub in the 400 block of Natoma Street at 1:10 a.m. and got into a car driven by a man in his 60s, thinking he was the driver she had just booked, according to police.
The man drove off and then stopped the car, turned and punched the woman in her face and arm and tried to get into the back seat with her, police said. She fought him off and ran for help.
She declined to go to the hospital to be treated for her injuries. The suspect fled the area and had not been found as of this morning.
