A man was punched in the face over a box of books in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early today, according to police.
The victim, a 62-year-old man, was standing at Mission and Seventh streets just after 4:20 a.m. with a box of books next to him when the robbery occurred, police said.
Two men in their early to mid 30s approached and one of them grabbed the box of books and punched the victim in the face, police said. The two men then fled with the books.
The victim suffered a cut to his eyebrow and was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
No arrest had been made as of this morning, police said.
