A second suspect in an assault outside AT&T Park that knocked an Oakland woman unconscious was arrested this evening in Sacramento, according to San Francisco police.
Anthony Rucker, 42, was arrested by Sacramento police on a warrant on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious injury, challenging to a fight/fighting in public and conspiracy, and will be extradited to San Francisco, according to police Officer Albie Esparza.
The 27-year-old female victim, who was injured when she attempted to stop a fight Thursday evening, was released from San Francisco General Hospital this morning, police said.
The fight broke out shortly after a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics at 5:50 p.m. on Second and King streets, police said.
Two male suspects apparently got into an argument with the victims, and one suspect punched a 28-year-old San Jose man in the face, according to police.
The 27-year-old Oakland woman tried to break up the fight, and one of the suspects punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious, police said.
The male victim suffered chipped teeth from the attack, police said.
Police believe the suspects and victims did not know each other, and the conflict was not related to team rivalries, Esparza said. Police don’t know whether the suspects went to the baseball game.
Police arrested suspect Francisco Lopez, 32, later Thursday night in Sacramento, where he lives, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy after he fled the scene with a second suspect, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
