Police are still seeking suspects in two separate fatal hit-and-run collisions that occurred Friday and Saturday in San Francisco.
The first collision occurred around 5:50 a.m. Friday, when a white van struck a man in the crosswalk at Powell Street and Broadway near Chinatown. The man has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner’s office as Sun-Choi Law, a 62-year-old San Francisco resident.
The suspect vehicle, which police described today as a white van with no back windows and some possible front-end damage, was turning from southbound Powell Street onto westbound Broadway at the time of the collision. It was last seen driving west on Broadway toward Mason Street, police said.
The second collision occurred at 6:46 p.m. Saturday in the Tenderloin.
A man later identified by the medical examiner’s office as 56-year-old Michael Gilmore was crossing south on Leavenworth Street at Ellis Street when he was struck by a silver Dodge minivan, according to police.
Gilmore, a San Francisco resident, struck the vehicle and then a nearby building, suffering fatal head trauma, police said.
A 34-year-old man walking behind Gilmore was also struck and was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
The suspect vehicle was last seen heading west on Ellis Street.
