A man was arrested on suspicion of robbery in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood Sunday night after allegedly stealing liquor bottles at gunpoint, according to police.
Police received a call at 11:34 p.m. Sunday from a person at a grocery store in the 1000 block of Webster Street reporting that three suspects had attempted to steal salads and liquor bottles.
A security guard attempted to stop them but one of the suspects allegedly brandished a handgun. The salads were recovered, but the suspects left the scene with the liquor, according to Officer Carlos Manfredi.
After a canvass of the area Chess Scott Grishman, 34, was arrested on suspicion of robbery. A 29-year-old woman was also detained, but not arrested, according to Manfredi.
A third suspect described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30 remains at large.
The handgun Grishman allegedly brandished was not in his possession at the time of his arrest, according to Manfredi.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is encouraged to call the San Francisco Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444. Tips can also be texted to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
