A man requested money from another man and then stabbed him with a screwdriver when he refused in San Francisco’s Mission District late Tuesday night, police said.
The stabbing was reported at 11:20 p.m. near 24th and Mission streets.
The suspect apparently approached the 52-year-old victim and requested money. When the victim refused, the suspect stabbed him several times and then fled north toward 23rd Street, according to police.
The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.
The suspect, believed to be a man in his 40s, had not been found as of this morning.
