San Francisco police detained two suspects in an armed robbery at a nail salon this evening after a vehicle pursuit that ended in the South of Market area, according to a spokesman.
The robbery was reported around 7:50 p.m., when police were called to a nail salon in the 2700 block of Octavia Boulevard, according to Officer Albie Esparza.
Three to five suspects allegedly entered the nail salon armed with guns and held up victims in a takeover-style robbery, Esparza said.
As the suspects fled, however, police located their vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit ended at 9th and Mission streets after the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle, Esparza said.
Up to three people sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision, Esparza said. No one was injured in the initial robbery.
The suspects fled into nearby buildings and alleys. Police were able to detain two people, but one suspect remains at large.
The area of Mission, Market, 9th and 10th streets remains closed, Esparza said.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 With SFPD at the start of the message.
