A three-alarm fire at a home in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood on Wednesday morning caused more than $1.7 million in damage, according to the fire department.
The blaze was reported at 10:50 a.m. at a three-story home at 2008 Vallejo St. It appears the fire started on the second floor, but the cause remains under investigation, a fire department employee said today.
The fire was extinguished just before noon.
Two residents have been displaced. One person was home at the time of the fire but managed to escape without injury, fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said Wednesday.
There was an estimated $1.5 million in damage to the house and $200,000 in damage to the home’s contents, according to the fire department. The fire spread to the building next door, causing $50,000 in damage there, but those residents were not displaced.
No injuries were reported.
