A man arrested at the scene of a home invasion robbery in San Francisco’s Bayview District late Wednesday night was charged today for being a convicted felon with a weapon and destroying evidence related to the incident, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
Michael Glover, 43, was arrested after a call at 11:45 p.m. came in about a 39-year-old woman who was threatened outside her home in the 1500 block of Newhall Street, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
Glover’s role in the incident remains unclear. Police initially said he was suspected to be in the group that committed the robbery, but clarified today that it was committed by three other men who remain at large today.
He was at the scene where three men, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, forced their way inside the home by threatening to shoot the woman if she didn’t let them inside.
A 39-year-old man and the woman were robbed of cash and a red purse. During the robbery another resident, a 50-year-old man, was shot in the arm and torso and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The three men fled out a back door and eluded capture.
Glover was arrested at the scene on suspicion of being a convicted felon with a weapon, receiving stolen property, firing into an inhabited dwelling, destroying evidence and other prior conviction charges and enhancements.
A gun and the stolen purse were recovered at the scene, police said.
According to San Francisco senior sheriff’s Deputy Enrique Luquin, Glover is being held on $393,000 bail.
District attorney spokesman Alex Bastian said Glover was charged this afternoon with being a convicted felon with a weapon and destroying evidence.
He is expected to be arraigned Monday at 1:30 p.m., he said.
