A man in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood was robbed of a bag containing a firearm early Thursday morning, police said.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was walking near the intersection of Seventh and Mission streets around 1 a.m. Thursday when a man approached him from behind, shoving him to the ground, police said.
The victim dropped his laptop bag, containing a firearm, two empty boxes of ammunition and two empty magazine cartridges.
The suspect, described as a man in his early 30s, picked up the bag with the firearm inside and fled north on Seventh Street on foot, officers said.
The suspect has not been identified and no arrests have been made, according to police.
The victim was not injured in the robbery and the incident remains under investigation.
