A water main break has shut down streets in San Francisco’s Japantown neighborhood this afternoon, according to the fire department.
The main break near the corner of Bush and Buchanan streets was reported at 1:57 p.m., fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
The flow of water caused some asphalt to buckle but there were no sinkholes reported, Talmadge said.
The 1900 block of Buchanan Street, which is near Bush is shut down while crews work on repairs.
