Two men suffered gunshot injuries and a third was cut by glass during a shooting at the Potrero Terrace public housing complex in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood Thursday evening, police said.
The shooting was reported at 4:28 p.m. Thursday at 25th and Wisconsin streets, according to Sgt. Michael Andraychak.
Based on the initial police investigation, officers said a male suspect was standing in the street while talking to friends in a silver sedan.
A vehicle containing three men in their early 20s drove by the suspect, at which point the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot at the vehicle, police said.
Bullets struck two men inside the vehicle while a third occupant was cut by shattered glass, according to police.
Andraychak said witnesses reported hearing between five and six gunshots fired.
The victims transported themselves to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment, police said.
According to police, one of the men suffered a gunshot wound to the head and the other man suffered at least one gunshot wound to his chest and back.
Police said the gunshot wounds do not appear to be life-threatening and that the victim who was cut by glass was treated and released from the hospital.
Officers responded to the scene of the shooting as well as the hospital in search of witnesses, evidence and surveillance video footage, according to Andraychak.
Police have not announced any arrests made in connection to the shooting or released any suspect information as of this morning.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
