A woman was arrested Thursday in connection with a hit-and-run collision that killed an elderly woman crossing the street in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood last month.
Police said officers arrested 31-year-old Nidra Stubbs at her San Francisco home around 11:45 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
Stubbs was booked into San Francisco County Jail and was later released on bail.
Her arrest stemmed from an investigation into March 20 collision that killed 82-year-old San Francisco woman Oi Yeung.
Yeung was crossing the street at Bayshore Boulevard and Visitacion Avenue around 11:15 a.m. when Stubbs allegedly struck her in her Dodge Durango, according to police.
The suspect fled and Yeung was pronounced dead at the scene.
San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon issued a statement the day of the collision expressing his condolences to the victim’s family and urging motorists, pedestrians and cyclists to be careful.
