A 24-year-old Concord man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood and injuring three people during a collision on Thursday evening, police said.
Ryan Wallace Dudley was the driver of a Honda Civic traveling north on Ninth Street that allegedly ran a red light at Folsom Street, striking another car and two pedestrians, police said.
Dudley was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI in connection with the collision, according to San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.
The collision occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday when Dudley’s vehicle allegedly struck a vehicle with a woman inside as well as two pedestrians in the crosswalk.
One of the pedestrians, a man in his 20s, suffered a skull fracture as well as internal bleeding, a chest laceration and bruising. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The other pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, suffered a fractured leg and bruising. She was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.
The woman in the vehicle struck by the Honda complained of pain and was transported to the hospital, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Dudley also suffered head lacerations in the collision and was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
