Part of San Francisco’s Hyde Street is closed this afternoon because of a downed power line, a San Francisco Municipal Railway spokesman said.
Business owners in the area said Hyde is closed between Union and Green streets.
Muni spokesman Paul Rose said the incident has interrupted service on the Powell-Hyde line. The disruption is occurring as an annual cable car bell-ringing contest is under way at Union Square.
