A tree fell in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood this morning, damaging three cars, a public works spokeswoman said.
Department of Public Works spokeswoman Rachel Gordon said a large part of a roughly 60-foot-tall ficus broke off and fell onto Lombard Street near Mason Street around 8:30 a.m.
The tree damaged three cars parked on the street, she said. No injuries were reported.
Gordon said DPW crews have been at the scene today clearing the tree from the roadway.
She said that since the rainstorm over the weekend, there have been about a dozen reports of fallen trees throughout the city.
“It’s to be expected at the start of the rainy season,” she said.
