An explosive device found in a yard in an industrial yard in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Wednesday morning was determined to be inert, police said today.
At about 8 a.m. Wednesday, police were alerted to the presence of a potentially explosive device in an industrial yard in the 1200 block of Van Dyke Avenue. The area was evacuated and the department’s bomb squad responded to the yard.
A military ordnance device was located but was determined to be inert and rendered safe, police said.
No one was injured during the operation and police are investigating how the device ended up at the yard.
