It’s back to school time this week for San Francisco kids and the San Francisco police department will be on patrol around schools to keep them safe, police said.

Directed traffic patrol operations will be in effect near city schools on today and Tuesday, according to Sgt. Dennis Toomer.

Back-to-school traffic enforcement will focus on enforcing the 15 mph school zone speed limits between 7 and 9 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on both days, Toomer said.
