8:15 AM: A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco this morning, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The collision, which happened at about 6 a.m. just north of the Silver Avenue exit, involved the motorcycle and a 36-passenger bus, CHP Officer Mark Ferguson said.
The motorcyclist was badly hurt and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, he said.
There were no passengers on the bus, and the driver was not injured, Ferguson said.
Several lanes were blocked as emergency crews responded, but the roadway was cleared shortly before 8 a.m.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
6:54 AM: A motorcycle collision is blocking the three left lanes of U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Sig-alert was issued at about 6:25 a.m. for the collision on southbound U.S. Highway 101, near Silver Avenue.
The three left lanes of southbound U.S. Highway 101 are blocked and motorists are advised to avoid the area, according to the CHP.
The cause of the collision and the condition of the motorcyclist has not been released.
