A suspicious vehicle driving in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood led police on a brief chase before disappearing this afternoon, police said.
Officers first spotted the car around Alemany Boulevard and Ellsworth Street, near Interstate Highway 280, at about 4:30 p.m., Officer Carlos Manfredi said.
The driver took off when police tried to pull him over, and someone in the car may have thrown something from the window.
Police briefly pursued but called the chase off on nearby Silver Avenue for public safety concerns.
The occupants of the vehicle remain at large tonight, Manfredi said.
