A report of a suspicious package in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood had no merit, according to police.
Officers received a report of a suspicious package in the 700 block of Lombard Street near Mason Street around 1 p.m., police said.
The San Francisco police bomb squad was called to the scene and the surrounding area was evacuated as a precaution, according to police.
The bomb squad determined the report had no merit and cleared the scene as of about 3:20 p.m., police said.
Streets in the area have reopened, according to police.
