Sunday ridership fueled by San Francisco’s Pride parade and celebration appears to have set a new record, BART officials said today.
The previous record for Sunday ridership were set on the day of the 2012 Pride parade, when 259,000 trips were recorded, according to BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost. In 2011, there weer 247,000 trips on the same day.
As of 10 p.m. today, the agency had recorded 276,041 trips.
BART provided extra service for Pride, including extra trains and longer trains, with an average length of nine cars per train, Trost said.
