Police in San Francisco are investigating what led to a collision that killed a pedestrian in a wheelchair this morning.
Officers responded to a report of a crash in the area of Market Street and Octavia Boulevard around midnight, Officer Gordon Shyy said.
A car hit a person in a wheelchair, according to Shyy.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the car remained at the scene, Shyy said.
The California Highway Patrol assisted police with traffic control at the Octavia Boulevard on-ramp to southbound U.S. Highway 101.
