A 68-year-old woman had her purse stolen at knifepoint in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood on Sunday morning, police said today.
The robbery was reported around 7:30 a.m. Sunday near Page and Cole streets.
The robber approached the woman, asked her what time it was and then tried to grab her purse, according to police.
The woman was able to walk away, but the suspect came up to her again a block away wielding a knife. He ordered her to hand over her purse and cellphone, then took the items and fled west on Page Street, police said.
The suspect, described as in his late teens or early 20s, had not been found as of this morning.
