She owns & is in a co-op in MN. I’m not on the lease, but am an approved person living with her. I lost my house, am disabled & suffer PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. I’m 56 yrs old.
I gave the Office Mngr my Dr ltr. 12/2015, stating I would benefit by having a Psych. Service Animal & told her I was searching. A month ago I told her I would be getting a Goldendoodle puppy in April that I would be self training.
Wednesday, I got a letter from her stating that a puppy couldn’t be a Service Animal because it would not be able to perform a task for me. (Of course not, it is to be ‘self trained!) Therefore, I couldn’t bring the animal in because she would need to present this to the ‘board’ & they wouldn’t approve it.
HELP, do I have my Doc write a letter changing the need to have a ‘ESA’ or is she wrong saying I can’t have a ‘support dog in training’ & it that I must have it trained 1st?
What can I do?
