Emergency responders are at the scene of a construction site in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill neighborhood where scaffolding and part of a building collapsed this morning, a fire lieutenant said.
Fire and police were dispatched to the building at 676 Geary Street, which is near Leavenworth, around 9:15 a.m. on reports of fallen scaffolding and a partial building collapse, San Francisco fire Lt. Robert Lopez said.
Fire crews arriving on the scene found the partial building and scaffolding collapse knocked down a light post, but did not cause any injuries to the construction crew working there, he said.
Building inspectors and personnel from the San Francisco Department of Public Works were also called to the scene.
It is unclear what caused the structural collapse, Lopez said.
