A man was critically injured when he was struck in the head with a wooden stick in San Francisco’s Mid-Market area on Sunday night, police said.
The 49-year-old man was in a verbal altercation with a suspect at Market and Hyde streets at 11:38 p.m. when the suspect hit him with a large wooden stick, possibly a two-by-four, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.
No suspect information was immediately available in connection with the attack, according to police.
