Three people were injured, two of them seriously, and a fire engine was badly damaged this morning in a crash involving three vehicles and a house in San Francisco’s Richmond District, according to San Francisco fire officials.
The collision occurred around 10:15 a.m. when a driver lost control and struck a service truck, then drove into a home at 7710 Geary Blvd., according to fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge.
The driver then backed away from the house and struck a fire engine parked across the street at Station 34, Talmadge said.
Two elderly patients in the initial vehicle were taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, while one patient from the truck that was struck was transported with less serious injuries.
No firefighters were injured, but the fire engine will need to be taken out of service for repairs and a relief engine will be brought in, Talmadge said.
Police have not yet returned a call seeking further details about the crash.
