Regarding the article’s author Eve Batey however. What school of journalism did you attend? Did you get the tip from a Police Scanner, then make “a” call to Sgt. Eric O’Neil for verification? So before you submit (and how DO these articles make it to Google News?) you’ve reported more about the suspects than the victims. A woman in her ’60’s crossing in a Pedestrian Walk at 9:45pm Sunday NIGHT? There is “nothing” there that’s still open, unless she was returning from Walgreen’s or Public Transporation on Taraval. There’s hardly any traffic, so maybe she couldn’t be seen because of no car headlights? Was this driver under the influence, young, old, stupid, or careless? I used to live only blocks from that intersection. Was the woman a neighborhood resident, walking a pet, Caucasian, Asian, other? Was she alone, aided by neighbors, relatives? And the poor man in his ’60’s in the Mission District? Come on, it’s now Monday morning nearly 1:00pm. If you’re going to post these stories, then DO some follow-up research at least and post the update for people to follow! Safety (or the lack thereof) at those intersections affects everybody!
