As you know, the Chronicle tells you that their Sunday paper contains print only content that appears on SFGate on the following Tuesday. I gave you a rundown of the print only content from this Sunday’s Chronicle, but why take my word for whether or not the Sunday Chron was worth the $3? Now you, too, can read the news they didn’t find newsy enough to put on SFGate until today. Here you go:
In print they called it Critics blast real estate reform, but online it’s headlined Appraisers give home-valuation reform low marks. OK.
In print they called it Town says abuse drove man to kill, online it’s Town backs slaying suspect who tells of abuse
In print it was Soaring costs laid to growing power of medical cartels, online it’s Experts warn of medical industry cartels’ power And maybe I was too hard on this story — on Sunday, I was all is this news (Commenter Xenu is clearly rubbing off on me), but the article generated at least four letters to the editor by people for whom this was news. Perhaps I have misjudged the Chronicle’s print only target audience!
She turns to theater to tell her life story is Rhodessa Jones’ life a cultural odyssey online. Fuck it, it’s worth $3 just to get both headlines for all these stories!!! Not really.
Native Son San Francisco Bay, a splendid stage for America’s Cup drama is now S.F. Bay, ideal venue for America’s Cup OK, why write a separate online only headline if the web hed is shittier? Why am I so hung up on this headline thing? I need to get over this.
Matier & Ross Perata paid year-round by prison guards union is now Perata picks up pretty penny from prison guards. Did I mention that we already read the “news” of the last third of this article last Thursday on SFist and in Valleywag? What do you guys think: does this mean Matier and Ross don’t bother to read any online publications and, not unlike the letter to the editor writers all shocked about health care, this was news to them? Or did they just not care that they were dumping stale shit on their readers? Which possibility is worse?
Willie’s World High drama swirls around Newsom, Feinstein, Tiger becomes Newsom, Feinstein and Tiger take center stage. Now that it’s online, somebody please explain the Jerry Brown section of this column to me, I still think Willie might be saying Jerry Brown is going to pretend to be black. But that can’t be right!
Scott Ostler Cutting the NBA deficit is The Sunday Punch: Cutting the NBA deficit Oh, this is called “The Sunday Punch”? Good to know.
Ray Ratto Beane critic returns to A’s fold is now Bitter Billy Beane critic returns to A’s fold. You had me at “Bitter,” headline rewriter!
So, there she is! You know what I thought of it, how about you? Would it have been worth $3 to have those stories on Sunday instead of today?
