And we need to give millions to wanabe mayors I say NO WE DON’T… How about some common sense in City Goverment. And if you want to really take about. Let’s talk 12B compliance and the ONE BILLION! !!YES ONE BILLION in non profit give aways with absolutely no oversight. Yes the new mayor touched on these matters once in the first few days of his appointment but not since. Guess he got the word…

A few million in public financing isn’t going to bust the budget and if it means they’re not entirely beholden to the folks with their hand out for more gov’t cheese aka tax breaks for the rich, then so be it.

As a former fundraiser I will say this – I’ve never seen public financing completely eliminate corruption either. But if the corruption at least stays in Independent Expenditures, well that can’t hurt either.
