Speaking of unfamiliar traffic markings what’s with those little yellow circles with a line sticking out of them? They seem to come in pairs of two and I mainly see them around bus stops (once again, an area where every other city has a simple, unambiguous sign, but we’re lucky to have a hastily painted number on a utility pole somewhere vaguely nearby), but I’m completely perplexed as to what they mean. The lines sticking out of the circles seem to indicate something because they’re not always consistent, but I can’t work it out for the life of me.

It seems to me that the SFMTA would welcome volunteers and work with them, perhaps through the SFBC. Meanwhile, rouge is pretty good, if it looks nice, akin to renegade graf artists.

Concerning Fell/Masonic, that damn light is OK, but many drivers turn on red. That intersection continues to be terribly unsafe.

Nice!!! Definitely a fan of more bike boxes. There is a well designed bike box in the middle lane of 14th st. at Folsom. Clearly demarcated with a Bike symbol inside of it. Use it everyday.

Funny, it’s kind of like the bike light at Fell and Masonic. And, well, it’s almost as though I predicted as much in an early Hell on Two Wheels column.

That said, what kind of paint to they use to do street markings, and where can I get some?
