Just in case you’re too lazy to read about the abduction and safe return of 17-year-old squirrel monkey Banana-Sam from and back to the SF Zoo, the hard-hitting journalists at Next Media Animation have put together a handy animation of the chain of events for you, from his theft to his retrieval at Stern Grove park.
My favorite part is the backpack-beckoning sequence, at which the Zoo’s Jill Andrews would look a bit askance. “A monkey would be placed into a backpack forcibly,” she told ABC7.
This might be one of the reasons that, as the Chron reports, the $5000 reward offered for Banana-Sam’s return hasn’t been paid out quite yet. As folks reluctant to publicly speculate might say, “questions remain.”
CBS5 reports that the Zoo has since increased their security.
According to the Ex, no one has been arrested and no suspects have been identified as of yet. Questions, as I might have mentioned, remain.
