However, if one cannot afford to purchase a stylish single-speed at $800, I would suggest searching out one of the abundant $200-300 beaters on craigslist. Even if you have to replace the brakes or the chain, it’s worth it. It may even make you feel like less of a poser once you graduate to a fashionable ride–you will have earned it.
