An elderly man was struck and killed by a garbage truck in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood this morning, police said.
The incident was reported at 7:40 a.m. on Jones and Antonio streets, just south of O’Farrell Street.
The man was hit by a Recology garbage truck that was going in reverse, according to police.
Streets in the area have been closed and pedestrians and motorists are advised to avoid the area, police said.
