A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control and crashed on a highway on-ramp in San Francisco this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The accident was reported shortly before 10 a.m. on the Seventh Street on-ramp to westbound Interstate Highway 80, CHP Officer Mike Ferguson said.
Ferguson said it appears the male motorcyclist went out of control and hit both sides of the on-ramp.
Witnesses reported that he may have been driving recklessly prior to the crash.
“It looks like speed is a factor,” Ferguson said.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The on-ramp was still closed as of 10:50 a.m. and the CHP was waiting for personnel from the San Francisco medical examiner’s office to arrive.
