A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision on San Francisco’s Mission Street on Monday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
The collision was reported at 3:47 p.m. near the intersection of Mission and Randall streets in the city’s Bernal Heights neighborhood.
The driver of a four-door Mercedes sedan heard loud revving, and then a motorcycle sped out of a nearby gas station and crashed into the side of the Mercedes, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, Shyy said.
The occupants of the Mercedes were treated at the scene for minor injuries, he said.
The crash remains under investigation.
