A 70-year-old man suffered a laceration to his finger when he stabbed a woman who, along with another suspect, tried to rob him early Thursday morning during a drug-fueled encounter in downtown San Francisco.
Around 5:45 a.m., the man was smoking crack with two other people on Myrtle Alley at Polk Street, according to police.
When the man pulled out his wallet to count his money, one of the two suspects pushed him to the ground. The suspects, described as a 40-year-old man and a woman between 30 and 40 years old, then began rummaging through the victim’s pockets, police said.
The victim pulled out a knife and stabbed the female suspect in her leg. In the process, the victim also cut his own finger, according to police.
The two suspects then fled with the victim’s suitcase, which contained clothes and other personal items.
The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
No arrests have been made as of this morning.
